Isamu Noguchi
in Paris:
The Unesco Garden
Marc Trieb
|
The garden for the UNESSCO Headquarters in Paris marked a pivotal point in Noguchi’s evolution as an environmental artist. Originally commissioned to design the sculptural seating in the Delegates’ Terrace, Noguchi expanded his project to include a lower garden. It is here that Noguchi defined his vision of space rather than form as the essence of design. This is the first book to present an in-depth study of this important garden.
